What is MotionFlow Technology?

Motionflow XR

MotionFlow

New technology to increase the refresh rate from the standard 50Hz to 100Hz (200Hz). This provides an ultra-soft and ultra-realistic picture. The technology creates 50 unique frames between each of the available 50 frames, doubling the number of frames per second played in real-time. +100Hz Motionflow technology works with both HD content and standard TV and DVD formats.

Types of Motion Flow

Motionflow XR 1000 Hz

From 1000 and above TVs with high-quality screens, with the renewal of TV lines, new TV models are assigned higher Motionflow indices.

Motionflow XR 800Hz

TVs with improved matrices, support 120 frames per second

  1. Adds new frames to make the image smooth
  2. Backlight control ensures a smooth transition between frames
  3. Frames refresh 8 times faster than usual, great for watching fast-paced sports

Motionflow XR 400Hz

TVs with slightly better matrices but support a maximum of 60 frames per second.

  2. Adds new frames to make the image smooth
  3. Frames update 4 times faster than usual, which is great for displaying dynamic scenes

Motionflow XR 100Hz 120Hz

Initial index, TVs with this index are the cheapest. When showing a video with a frame rate of 24 per second, identical frames are added. By increasing the total number of frames shown, a maximum of 60 frames per second can be shown. Although Sony claims the following
